Antique Wax Head Papier Mache Doll 25" H - Beautiful Dress with Real Hair in Bun

I am offering this wax over papier mache head doll for the first time on the public market - it had belonged to the original owner / doll collector who amassed her collection from antique stores and private sales over many years. They were lovingly cared for by the owner. I recently purchased this item from the niece who had inherited items from her aunt in the early 1960s and stored them away. The niece had no interest in doll collecting. She was moving to a smaller home and no longer wanted to store them. I bought the entire doll collection from her which includes dolls and children's items stored away by the niece for more than 50 years. Watch for more listings.
Wax Head Doll Details -
25" high, molded head and facial features - bulging glass brown eyes, painted on brows and lashes, and red closed mouth. Her wig is
real human hair worn in a large bun. The dress is the work of a very talented seamstress. Not sure of the dress's age but at least 60 years. It is a two part piece with an attached v-shaped bodice with fancy lace and eyelet lace woven with the tiniest ribbon. The dress is sheer with stitched vertical lines over the entire fabric, rows of lace, and a really full skirt. It has a bustle in the back with the dress accommodating the bustle with a longer hemline in back compared to the front. Her forearms and legs from the knee down appear to be flesh painted was over composition? Her well-defined lady-like body feels like it is made of cotton stuffed straw. We did not remove any of her garments for condition issues.
Condition -
We reviewed what was accessible without removing her clothing or wig to check for condition issues. No viewable damage or issues. No history on it of if or when she may have been restored but it would have to have been more than sixty years.

: Returns accepted within three days of receiving shipment and only if the item has an error in its description - not in the condition report. Buyers must be aware the items we sell are antique / vintage items - not brand new and will show signs of use.
